Founded in 1998, NHBRC’s core function is to protect the interests of housing consumers and to regulate home building. It is the only entity to provide home warranty protection in South Africa and operates from 9 provincial offices nationwide.
In South Africa, the warranty for subsidy and non-subsidy is compulsory. All new homes in the country should be enrolled with NHBRC at least 15 days prior to construction starting. It provides 3 different types of warranty.
